The Spiel of Xavier / 2017
One of the most asked questions I get asked when talking about my book is: what inspired you? Well, to be honest, it was a woman. Yes, a woman. We dated for around 2 years and 2 months. Around the third month things got real bad. Keep in mind we were long distance--it NEVER works out. But after the whole thing, I was totally heart broken. I know it's cliche, but I swore to myself that she was the one. But after picking up the pieces, I felt a drive to write. So I did. It was my junior year in high school and I decided that summer I would sit down and write a novel. So I did. Over the entire summer, all the way up until a quarter through my senior I wrote.
The Spiel of Xavier, is a tale about long lost loves which cross paths and in the process exploit the greater, and the darker truths about their present situation. |
But it was in my elder years that I, truly, saw the truth of life—one I knew Aaron knew best. The truth that all men must know. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and only a few will ever find it.” |
I think I speak for every other writer out there in the world when I say, writing is my scapegoat. It's my bat-cave, and my sanctum of solitude. As I said above, after my heart was broken after a bad break-up, I turned to writing, which turned out to evolve into a successful book. That's the great thing about struggles, they are always temporary. And regardless to what you, or anyone else think, you learn from them. If you had never touched the hot stove when you were a child, you would've never grown up thinking the stove was hot. Yet, you had to burn yourself in order for you to finally realize it--also know as--you learned from yet. Pain helps you grow. I transform my painful past into beautiful creations of tomorrow.
Upcoming books...
St. Catherine / in progress
My next novel I plan on taking a whole new approach to writing as a whole. As I step out of the romantic/drama style, and into my horror, and Gothic style, may I let the imagery and my own fear run free and wild.
Premise of the book
When tragedy strikes in the Atkinson house for a second, through the fearful and evil events that occur unfold, they draw to an unparalleled conclusion that may scare you to believing it's true. |
"...Before I start, remember to never judge a book by its cover, you may never know what may be fact or what is fiction.”
- David Wright (The Spiel of Xavier/C. S. Brown)
